FIVE best aspects of Pottermore!

If you’re a big fan of Harry Potter, Pottermore is definitely the place to go to delve into the series even more! There are so many incredible features on there, but today I thought I’d discuss what I view as the best FIVE!

1. Getting sorted into your Hogwarts house!

For any fan of HP, you of course would want to know which house you’d belong to if you were to go to Hogwarts and Pottermore make this happen! On the website when you have made an account, you answer several questions which at the end will determine which house you’ll be in! You must answer the questions truthfully to yourself if you want it to be a true reading!

I did this myself, and very luckily I was sorted into Gryffindor! For most people that is the goal house to be in so I couldn’t be happier to be sorted into that wonderful house and it fits my ginger hair and the fact I could be a Weasley!

2. Getting sorted into your Ilvermorny house!

Ilvermorny is a relatively new part of the Wizarding World and was announced some point last year! For those who don’t know, Ilvermorny is the American school of magic. Just like with Hogwarts there are four houses: Thunderbird, Pukwudgie, Horned Serpent and Wampus!

Again, I got sorted into an Ilvermorny house even though at the time I wasn’t really sure about that school and I got Thunderbird! This means I now have a very nice red theme going on my account and I love it!

3. Finding out what your wand is!

Ok so in my opinion, finding out your wand was probably just as if not more exciting than getting sorted into your Hogwarts house! But there is one thing I have to say about my wand, it is HUGE! 14 and a quarter inches in my opinion is massive for a wand, I couldn’t believe it!

My wand is described as “Hawthorn wood with a Unicorn hair core, 14 1/4″, with Slightly Yielding flexibility” and Pottermore even provide a picture which I love!

4. Patronus?!

I love the fact that you can now discover your Patronus on Pottermore! Just like with the sorting ceremonies, you answer a load of questions and at the end of it you can discover your Patronus! This can be more-a-less anything, mine for example was a Manx Cat!

5. Writing by J.K Rowling!

As well as taking part in all of the fun aspects of the Potter world, there is also a section full of extra writing by J.K Rowling! On this part of the website you can find pieces such as “The Magical Congress of the United States of America (MACUSA)“, “History of Magic in North America“, “The Potter Family” and so much more!

This is such a great addition to the site because it’s so interesting to get pieces that delve into more detail about certain parts of the Wizarding World!

What’s your favourite part of the Pottermore website? Is there anything you’d like to see on there that currently isn’t? What are your houses? As always I’d love to know your thoughts so please leave a like and comment and don’t forget to click the link below to check out my previous post! Thank you!

  1. Great blog post!๐Ÿ˜Š I also love pottermore, although don’t log in so often, I just made the testsโ˜บ I’m Ravenclaw and I’m very satisfied with this, I think it suits me the best. And as Patronus I got a wildboar๐Ÿ˜‚ which sounds funny at the first moment but I like it now bc pigs are very intelligent, they like all food and they protect their babies very wellโ˜บ

  2. Amazing post! Pottermore is amazing! It actually lets you get a glimpse of what your life would be like as a wizard, which is fantastic! I love the articles, the quizzes and everything! I’m a Slytherin, which was surprising but I’m embracing my new status! ๐Ÿ˜‰
Oh by the way, your wand is the same as Draco’s!! Hawthorne wood and unicorn hair! How cool! :)xx
